No. You can register, pay, and begin your learning before obtaining approval from RECA. However, you will not be able to write your RECA licensing exam unless you have RECA-approved eligibility.

Area Learn courses can be accessed on computers, tablets, laptops, and mobile devices from the Learning Management System. If using an Apple product, the Learning Management System works best with Google Chrome and is not compatible with Safari.

Your course will display as complete once all required learning activities, assessments, and completion steps have been successfully finished. You will also receive an email stating you have completed the course with a certificate.

This is the final step in the course completion process. Completing it confirms that you'd like to begin your 90-day exam period.

Once you have completed the course and passed the RECA exam, you should begin your second course to get your licence.

You may take the licensing exam once you have successfully completed your course requirements and received authorization.

Exam booking is completed directly through RECA. Once you are eligible, refer to the instructions in your RECA account. Please note all exams are done through RECA's third-party provider, Pearson VUE, in person at their testing centres.

Area Learn offers an Exam Prep Program and a Tutoring Program. The Exam Prep Program helps assess readiness through mock exams and coaching. Tutoring provides targeted one-on-one support with challenging concepts.

The program includes mock exams mapped to the RECA competency exam blueprint, a detailed review of your results, and a one-on-one coaching session to identify knowledge gaps and recommend next steps.

The Exam Prep Program is designed for learners preparing to write a RECA licensing exam who want to assess their readiness and focus their final study efforts.

The Tutoring Program provides personalized one-on-one support to help you identify precisely where you are struggling, understand challenging concepts, and build confidence before your exam.

Exam Prep uses mock exams and coaching to assess readiness and identify knowledge gaps. Tutoring provides targeted one-on-one instruction in the areas where you need support. Learners may use either service or both together.

Use the text-to-speech or audio feature for all courses by downloading the PDF resources with the desired course and opening them in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Select the Read Aloud functions to have the content read to you.

Course materials are provided through the Area Learn platform. Downloading or printing options are available for all courses by downloading the manuals available in each course and printing.
